During the webinar on 11 March 2025 hosted by ENOS, members of the European Outdoor Sports Campus had the opportunity to present the latest developments and initiatives as well as upcoming events related to this working group that focuses on creating opportunities and a common roadmap for outdoor sports education stakeholders in Europe, including Universities and different training centres from various European countries.

Main Outcomes

Among the different activities that were presented we could witness the first results of the joint work of the campus members:

– The collaboration between LAPIN AMK University (Finland) and Storuman Folkschool (Sweden) allowed the exchange of different pedagogical methodologies and training contents in order to harmonise standards and enrich the training of students in outdoor sports.

– The collaboration between CREPS (France) and LAPIN AMK (Finland) was completed with the creation of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) within the Erasmus+ programme which allowed students to carry out an exchange in Rovaniemi (Finland) and to participate in an online course on environmental education.

– The University of South Eastern Norway presented the new Joint Master developed together with Lapin AMK and the University of Edinburgh, which will aim to create a teaching programme focused on European Outdoor Sustainability (EOS).

– The University of Presov in Slovakia has worked in the field of outdoor sports education research developing different initiatives such as the 10 Anniversary of the Position Statement on Active Outdoor Play and The Global Matrix.

LAPIN AMK has developed the ‘Green Exercise Outdoor Guide Certification’ as a structured approach to outdoor guiding competencies, assessment and certification.
